Gagarin Project

Description

Between June and September 2020, the "Hazarashen" Armenian Ethnological Research Center, in collaboration with the DAR Regional Development and Competitiveness Foundation, participated in the implementation of the "Gagarin Project."

The goal of the project was to form a self-sufficient community with a sustainably developing and innovative lifestyle, aimed at enhancing the well-being, creativity, and happiness of its residents. The project brought together local communities, relevant organizations, and local and international professional teams to develop a sustainable, long-term territorial development model.

Research Focus

  • Cultural heritage preservation – Uncovering and commercializing traditions, rituals, and customs
  • Community involvement – Participatory ethnography, amplifying the voice of locals
  • Tourism development – Assessing the potential of cultural heritage in tourism-related projects
